An author and researcher has created a collection of diaries from working-class people across the UK including Nottingham. The book, ‘Lockdown Diaries of the Working Class,’ documents the first few weeks of the pandemic and creates a snapshot of the panic felt during the early lockdown days.
Lisa McKenzie asked on social media for people interested in keeping a diary about their experiences. The result was 46 stories that have been beautifully illustrated and turned into a book. Lisa relocated back to Nottingham when the pandemic began and remembers the emotions of the early days of lockdown as it ‘felt like the end of the world was coming’ at that time.
